I have this thing for small spaces. They are cozy, private, and kind of my size. Although, realistically, I may never live in a Tiny Tumbleweed or Micro Compact home, the KO Basalt garden glass box by Krill offers a cozy space when you need one.

But the back yard was definitely not inspired by Philip Johnson. The garden (conspicuously lacking plants) was designed as an extension of the living room, not the outdoors. And the owners made it very clear they didn't want a landscape architect; "If we want to enjoy nature, we will take our car and drive to a forest." So an extended living room serves as a place to enjoy the sun and rain privately without the charade of the wilderness.

Personally, I'll take New Canaan, Connecticut any day.
