Peter Beste's human bestiary is hitting the road, and landing in Hollyweird for one torturous month. So if you weren't enthralled by the fearsome agents of musical evil in his photo book True Norwegian Black Metal, then maybe seeing them take up an entire wall of a gallery might do the trick.

The show opens on Friday at Zune LA, and Vice is taking down names for the launch party, so get in and get hurt. And while you are there, remind yourself of the defended differences between death metal and black metal, as explained in Listening Post's previous entry on this subject. It was there that AllMusic.com's Eduardo Rivadavia schooled me on the fine lines.

"In fact, 99% of the face-painted hordes from Norway and otherScandinavian countries play black metal," Rivadavia explained. "And certainly any holdingcrosses or worshiping Satan."

What he said.
