Six Days in Fallujah, a game seeking to recreate the worst fighting of the current Middle Eastern conflict in realistic virtual form, has been dumped by publisher Konami in reaction to the widespread controversy the game's announcement has caused, reports The Asahi Shimbun.
"After seeing the reaction to the videogame in the United States and hearing opinions sent through phone calls and e-mail, we decided several days ago not to sell it," a Konami PR rep told the paper.
There is no word on what developer Atomic Games intends to do with the work they've already completed on the game, but it seems doubtful that another major publisher would be willing to risk a similar public outcry by picking up Fallujah's publishing rights any time soon.
