Evan Ratliff was fluked at about 7 p.m. EDT tonight by Jeff, the owner of Naked Pizza in New Orleans. Jeff had been tipped off that Evan was in New Orleans by @vanishteam, which has been tracking Evan through some serious high-tech maneuvering, which will all be explained soon. It involves IP tracking, fem-bots, fake names and much more.
@Vanishteam alerted Jeff, a long-time Wired reader, this morning that Evan was in New Orleans and that he might be coming to them, the one place that serves gluten-free pizza in the city. They alerted all of their delivery men and started to stake out other possible locations that Evan might visit. Waiting just outside a book reading, Jeff saw someone biking toward him who resembled Evan. "Do you know anybody named Fluke?" And that was it. Afterward, he comped Evan some gluten-free pizza. Evan was startled and stunned.
