There's only one week left in the hunt for Evan Ratliff. So it's time to raise the stakes a bit. We're offering him five challenges over the next five days, each of which he will have 48 hours to complete. With every challenge that Wired decides he has completed in time and in good faith, based on evidence he sends in, Evan gets an extra $400 added to the bonus he'll get if he wins. If he gets them all, that'll bring the final amount to $5000. Of course, even if he completes all five challenges, he'll get nothing if found and "fluked" before next Tuesday; in that case the whole $5,000 goes to whomever finds him. These challenges aren't tricky; pretty much anyone could do them... if they weren't afraid of being seen.
To give Evan a chance, we're hiding the specific tasks he has to complete in something he reads every day. And we're making it so the information won't be accessible until that day. I'll send Evan his instructions first thing in the morning (and I've just sent him his instructions for today). If you want to find out what those instructions are, however, you'll have get up early and do some work.
Here are Evan's tasks:

Once you can figure out the challenges you've given him, you might be able to trace his route and track him down. That is, if he chooses to 20A.
