There's a new batch of downloadable content coming for Brütal Legend. And if you're the type who likes racking up Xbox Live achievements or scoring PlayStation 3 trophies, this new add-on is right for you.
The DLC, called "Hammer of Infinite Fate," contains a bunch of new outfits for Eddie Riggs, custom paint jobs for the Druid Plow and a handful of multiplayer maps. But I'll be downloading for the Oculus of the Lost – a GPS system for Eddie Riggs' car that illuminates the locations of missing collectibles.
After beating the game I spent hours poring over a map of Brütal Legend's game world, trying to find the last couple Bound Serpents. They still haunt my dreams – almost as much as the lone pigeon I didn't exterminate in Grand Theft Auto IV. Call me crazy, but I'd pay real money for an upgrade to Nico Bellic's phone that pointed me to that last, miserable bird.
So on top of making old achievements slightly easier to nail, this new content also delivers a handful of new achievements. Eagle-eyed NeoGAF forum member Minamu spotted them way back in November. The descriptions Minamu scoped last month totally jibe with the officially announced DLC.
On December 17, when this new content debuts for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, I'm gonna have some serious achievement hunting to do.
