Guillermo del Toro and THQ will team to create a horror-themed videogame, says MTV.

"It's a very different type of horror game," said the acclaimed film director. "It's truly a strange, geeky mix. It's a Lovecraftian thing."

The game won't be ready until at least 2013, the director told MTV's Multiplayer blog on Wednesday.

Del Toro has been a busy man since backing away from a gig directing Peter Jackson's remake of The Hobbit. He recently set up a deal with DreamWorks Animation to write and direct a movie called Trollhunters, and plans to mount a big-screen adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness with James Cameron.
