Steve Wiebe is once again the king of Kong.
The gamer, who famously battled for Donkey Kong supremacy in the documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, racked up a new high score of 1,064,500 on the classic videogame, scorekeeping organization Twin Galaxies said Monday.
Wiebe – a teacher who lives in Kirkland, Washington, and hasn't held the Donkey Kong title since 2007 – achieved the new high score Aug. 30 and submitted it to Twin Galaxies. Rival Billy Mitchell and dark horse Hank Chien both posted high scores before Wiebe's comeback.
