Calling all location scouts working on post-apocalyptic sci-fi films: The shuttered Six Flags New Orleans theme park in Louisiana offers a wealth of downbeat dystopian details in the vein of The Road or AMC's new zombie series The Walking Dead.

As captured by Baton Rouge cinematographer Teddy Smith in the surreal new video above, the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged theme park provides post-apocalyptic vistas amplified by a guitar-driven dirge scored by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Tattered red banners blow in the wind, weeds sprout around the once-cheerful Jester roller coaster and a desolate Ferris wheel is silhouetted in the distance.

Some of this imagery will likely show up next year in Films in Motion thriller The Courier starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), which is currently shooting on the abandoned site. In January, the theme park will be demolished and sold for scrap metal.

UPDATE: On Friday night, Smith removed the video. In an email to Wired.com, Smith wrote "I had to take the video down for reasons I would rather not have public right now."
