As part of the lead-up to this Friday's finale of The Clone Wars, StarWars.com has put up a clever soundboard of Wookiee sounds for your -- er, your child's -- mixing delight.
I'm not sure about the transcriptions of Wookiee-speak, but the soundboard has some nice features: it's dead easy to use and it allows you to share it via email or social media without creating Yet. Another. Account. The best part, though, is when your recipients click on the link to your Wookiee-mix: In addition to hearing the audio, the site lists the specific chunks of vocalization included. ("Ah, so that's 'Ara-a-woof,' then 'Rwaah-oh-oh,' instead of the other way around.") In principle, that lets your child come up with a mini-lexicon, allowing you to have a conversation back and forth in Wookiee.
Um, not that that happened at our house. And we certainly didn't get into a 30-minute pseudo-argument about the lexicon, one that might or might not have included the phrase, "A Wookiee wouldn't say that."
Check it out for yourself! And while you're at it, see Dave Banks's post from September about The Sounds of Star Wars.
