Scavengers hunts have been a fun party activity since the 1930s but actor Misha Collins has put a new twist on this game with his international scavenger hunt, GISHWHES.
Misha Collins is best known as the angel Castiel in Supernatural. But last year he came up with the idea for The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen or GISHWHES. This international scavenger hunt had people being grouped into teams to take photos on a scavenger list. The list included items such as "A woman wearing a dress (and only the dress) made entirely from bacon" to more difficult challenges like "Show an actual Nobel Prize winner telling the joke: 'Why did the chicken cross the road?". The winning team got a trip to Rome which included dinner with Misha himself.
I heard about GISHWHES while the hunt was happening last year from friend of mine took part. From her tweets, it looked like she had a great time taking photos as well as making friends with her team. When I saw that sign ups were open for GISHWHES II, I decided that I wanted to take part this year.
Registration for GISHWHES II is open from now until October 20th. The hunt will take place from October 30 until November 4th. You can sign up as a team or you can sign up as an individual. If you don't have a group, you will be put in a team before GISHWHES begins. The big prize for the winning team will be a slumber party with Misha Collin in a haunted castle in Scotland. There is a small fee to join up based on a sliding scale but the exact amount isn't revealed until you're registered.
I'm really looking forward to playing in GISHWHES this year as well as making new friends once I have my team. I'd also love to go to a slumber party in Scotland too.
Post in the comments if you are going to play this year or share your experiences from last year!
