Game of Thrones as a Seinfeld Sitcom: Adding a Laugh Track Changes Everything

It's amazing how much some clever edits, intro music and a laugh track can change otherwise unadulterated source material. Case in point, this YouTube video by MatinComedy that's been making the rounds. As the title implies, "Game of Thrones as a Seinfeld Sitcom" mashes up Seinfeld and Game of Thrones ( the clip is safe for work, BTW — nothing worse than Joffrey being slapped around by Tyrion). Although I'm a big fan of George R. R. Martin's series, being one of those people who is a bit squeamish about blood and gore onscreen, I'm only able to watch the TV version in very small doses. This definitely takes some of the intensity out of the source material.

Now I want to go and watch some Seinfeld. My boys thought Michael Richards was hilarious as Stanley Spadowski in Weird Al's classic UHF, but I've never gotten around to picking up any Seinfeld episodes. Time to rectify that oversight…
