Wolverine Movie Motion Poster Rains on Tokyo Skyline

Everyone’s favorite lone wolf, Logan, gets left out in the Toyko rain in the new motion poster for director James Mangold’s X-Men film The Wolverine.

Everyone knows Wolverine is something of a lone wolf, but in the latest teaser for The Wolverine flick Logan looks downright lonely.

The motion poster (above), released on the film’s international site, shows a desolate-looking mutant wielding a samurai sword and overlooking the Tokyo skyline — a fitting image considering director James Mangold’s sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine takes Logan to Japan where he trains with a samurai warrior. It’s kind of depressing, but that’s the mood of the film. Wolverine himself (Hugh Jackman) recently said that in the film, “He’s definitely at his lowest point at the beginning of this movie — you see him more vulnerable than you’ve ever seen him before, that’s for sure.”

So, best bummer of the day?

The Wolverine slashes into theaters July 26, 2013.
