Hollywood is always trying to sell us on crazy computer interfaces. From Ender's Game to Minority Report, their message is that mouses and keyboards will be replaced by hand waving and complicated 3-D holographic control rigs. Never gonna happen. Now Fox News is in on the game, too, and the Angry Nerd is unfairly unbalanced about the giant, news-gathering touchscreens that the network's news team are using.
Why is all this interface idiocy happening? Because watching someone use a keyboard or touchscreen is the dullest thing imaginable. The media is desperate to create some new UI that actually looks interesting on camera. What should they do? Angry Nerd has some ideas.
