Forbes has released its first list of the 100 richest tech billionaires in the world, and while many of the top rankings are fairly predictably (we're looking at you, Bill Gates), the list also reflects some recent changes in industry fortunes. For starters, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is listed at No. 3, after Gates at No. 1 ($79.6 billion) and Oracle founder Larry Ellison at No. 2 ($50 billion). Bezos's net worth spiked in July to $47.8 billion after Amazon reported a profitable second quarter, which sent Amazon share price soaring.

The list also reflects the rise of Alibaba founder Jack Ma who came in at No. 7 with a post-IPO net worth of $23.2 billion, making him the richest tech billionaire in Asia. But he's in good company, according to the list: 33 of the top 100 billionaires are from the world's biggest continent.
