It's looking to be a good week for benchmarks.. Just yesterday the LG G6 surfaced in an alleged GeekBench posting showing the device with the Snapdragon 821. LG's in a bit of a tough spot this year, as there aren't enough Snapdragon 835s for the G6. All of these have been scooped up by Samsung and today we've got a benchmark that looks to prove this fact. A smartphone that might be he Galaxy S8 has surfaced featuring the Snapdragon 835. Take a look below for more.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Surfaces In Benchmark Running The Snapdragon 835
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 will be quite a processor. It'll be manufactured on Samsung's 10nm FinFET, resulting in major power and performance upgrades across the board. In addition to processing, the chipset will also improve photography by a big margin, focusing on Zoom, Focus and color capture. Today's benchmark leak for the processor reveals what the phone might be capable of achieving running Qualcomm's advanced chipset.
While there's no way to confirm that the benchmark below belongs to Samsung's Galaxy S8, it does run a Snapdragon 835. The processor fares quite well when compared to Samsung's previous devices in single core scores. Given that the Galaxy S8 will be the first major flagship running the processor and Qualcomm's close ties with Samsung, it can be reasonably inferred that the device is a testing variant of the smartphone.
The Snapdragon 835 scores 2004 in single core and 6233 in multi core tests. Compared to the S7 and the Note 7 running at 1.6GHz, the 835 running at 1.9GHz easily surpasses Samsung's current top devices. A very important fact to keep in mind is that Samsung will place some throttles on the Snapdragon 835. The processor is an absolute beast when it comes to performance and the Korean tech gian't doesn't want another debacle like the Note 7.
The Snapdragon 835 will be an all rounder in mobile processors. Not only will the chip take up less power and deliver more, it'll also make a lot of contributions to VR, photography and graphics. Qualcomm's Adreno GPU lineup is top notch for graphics, and leaves other chips in its dust consistently across benchmarks. Let's hope the US chip giant makes a home run this year. Thoughts?
