E3, the annual videogame conference, has been canceled—not because it tweeted something it shouldn't have, but in the literal sense. It's among the many conventions forced to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. You can still watch all of the virtual presentations from game developers and console makers from the comfort of your laptop at home.
The in-person conference may have come to a halt, but the game industry's long-standing tradition of videogame sales during June lives on. No matter what console you're shopping for, these sales are worth checking out. We've rounded up our favorite deals below, and we'll update this list throughout the month as more announcements come.
Microsoft's sale feels like peeking inside a loot box. Take your pick of discounted consoles, games, memberships, and more. This sale runs through June 15. Check out all of Microsoft's deals here, but we've highlighted our top picks.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate First Month for $1 ($14 off): Ultimate includes an Xbox Live Gold account, around 100 rotating Xbox One games to play anytime, and access to play on PC. You can also save on a three-month membership.
Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Editions Bundle for $59 ($50 off)
Sales on Switch games aren't rare, but the Nintendo Summer Game Sale offers up to 50 percent off, which is worthy of a Mario-style "Wheeee!" Scour these deals before the sale ends on June 16.
New Nintendo 2DS XL System with Mario Kart 7 Pre-Installed for $100 ($50 off)
PowerA Enhanced Pokémon Sword Wireless Controller (Nintendo Switch) for $30 ($20 off)
PowerA Enhanced Pokémon Shield Wireless Controller (Nintendo Switch) for $30 ($20 off)
"What are ya buyin'?" Everything, probably, thanks to Sony's annual Days of Play Sale. Save up to 50 percent on games, add-ons, and more through June 17.
PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership for $42 ($18 off): This is a couple bucks more than the lowest price we typically see, but it's still a good deal if you need to re-up your membership.
PlayStation Now 12-Month Membership for $42 ($18 off): If you're confused, PS Now is a game-streaming service, whereas PS Plus above is necessary for online multiplayer.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition for $20 ($20 off)
You can save on hardware, software, and probably other types of wares. Here are the best deals outside of the Big Three.
Razer Gear and Bundles for up to 30 percent off: Razer makes some of our favorite peripherals. There are a few discounted bundles up for grabs at Amazon as well as some individual price drops. We particularly like the $230 Basilisk Ultimate + Blackwidow Elite Green bundle. It saves you over $50. You can't beat the gear's lightning-fast response times (or customizable RGB lighting), especially at this price.
GameStop Pre-Owned Game Sale: Buy two games that cost $10 or less, get two games of equal or lesser value for free. You may be able to save even more by using code CAG16 during checkout. This is a good way to fill up your gaming library.
