Ranjeet Recalls Shatrughan Sinha-Sanjay Khan Fight That Led To Gunfire: 'Usne Lafa Maar Diya Gaal Pe'
Ranjeet spills shocking details on Shatrughan Sinha and Sanjay Khan’s ugly clash that led to gunshots and cops.

Ranjeet, the iconic Bollywood villain of the ’70s and ’80s, recently revealed a jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes tale of a clash between Shatrughan Sinha and Sanjay Khan that spiraled into gunfire, police intervention, and a night of high drama.
In an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Ranjeet recalled how the altercation began at a party attended by Bollywood bigwigs, including Zeenat Aman. “I was at home with my girlfriend when I heard about the fight. Shatrughan, Sanjay, Prakash, and others used to hang out at my place after their shoots," he began.

According to Ranjeet, the fight ignited when “Shatrughan Sinha ne Sanjay Khan ke gaal pe haath laga diya." The casual gesture enraged Sanjay, who retaliated with a slap. Things escalated quickly as Reena Roy yelled, “Tune usko mara!" prompting Sanjay and his group, including Bob Christo, to step outside to settle the matter.
At the time, Shatrughan had just been signed for Jwalamukhi after a fallout with Amitabh Bachchan. Ranjeet recalled, “When Shatru’s group heard about the slap, they rushed to my house. I was in my den and didn’t want them to see my friend, so I stayed in. But soon, I heard my intercom buzz. A friend warned me, ‘Yaar, woh goliyan chala rahe hai.’"
The situation took a dangerous turn when Shatrughan’s associates, including Choudhry and Bipin, arrived at Sanjay’s house armed with country-made pistols. “They weren’t pointing at anyone but were firing in the air, yelling, ‘Oye bahar nikal oye!’" Ranjeet revealed.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Khan sought refuge at Ranjeet’s house. “When I saw him sitting in my home, I asked, ‘What are you doing here?’ He said, ‘Arey idiots, they’re bloody firing at my house in the 21st century! I even found a bullet casing!’ He was ready to file a case, but I calmed him down, telling him they’d apologize."
As tensions simmered, Zeenat Aman arrived with a lawyer. “I saw a car approaching from my bathroom window, and out stepped Zeenat with a vakil. Meanwhile, Shatru’s men and Prakash Mehra’s people were stationed everywhere," Ranjeet described. Suddenly, police sirens echoed through the area. “Abbaas (Sanjay) had called the police, saying, ‘They’re coming to attack me.’"
The cops, including an ACP, stormed Ranjeet’s house. “Sanjay narrated everything to the ACP—how he had given Shatru a role, how he could have fired back but didn’t. It was getting late, so I left for work. But by evening, I learned Dilip Kumar intervened, and the police had taken Shatrughan and Prakash to the station."
The next morning, newspapers carried the dramatic headline: “Murder was planned at Ranjeet’s place." Ranjeet also revealed that while filmmaker Subhash Ghai wasn’t arrested, he did visit the Santa Cruz police station that night.
